The Best Reason To Vote

Posted on November 4, 2012

Every election, despair creeps into the general populace. There is an all-encompassing feeling of hopelessness – that no matter who you choose, they will wind up screwing you. It’s like being in a cage trap in a Saw movie.

People will tell you how important it is to vote, but often they are trying to sell you on their candidate. And the key issues – war, abortion, the economy – no one really has a solution. It comes down to the lesser of two evils.

But think about all the people you know. Think about how your local politician will vote. Or your mother-in-law. Or that loudmouth at work.

Realize that in casting your own vote you are canceling them out.

Does your boss talk about the economy and how screwed up it is and how his candidate is going to fix things? Wouldn’t it be nice to make his guy lose?

This is the only reason to vote. It’s not so much for your voice to be heard, but to silence someone else’s.
